Let the children come to me, for to such as these belongs the Kingdom of God. (Mark 10:14)
Jesus made it clear then and today that the children come first. Why? Because it is in and through them the field of God’s dream takes root and emerges. That field here at the Royal Poinciana Chapel is fertile, tillable, and is where the seeds of God’s love are being planted, watered and nurtured so that they can take root, grow and bear fruit. The Chapel’s ministry to the youngest among us, their friends and families continues to be a source of joy and a sign of the Chapel’s growth and vitality.
Meet Our Director of Children’s Ministry:
Chrissie Randolph Ferguson
I graduated from the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida and worked in the field of advertising upon graduation. I soon realized that writing and working with children were my true passions in life. So I went back to school to become certified to teach English. After taking classes, I began teaching and have been teaching and working with children (pre-school through high school) in some capacity for more than 10 years. Currently, I am in my fifth year working part-time at my church as the Director of Children’s Mnistries and aim to bring young children closer to Christ by creating programs for infants through children in 5th grade. I am also a freelance writer for various publications throughout South Florida, including Good News Florida and South Florida Parenting, and write children’s books in my spare time. Last but not least, and most importantly, I am a mother of three young boys. My role as a mother and wife is the most important and rewarding role I play. I wouldn’t trade my life or family with anyone. I am so unbelievably blessed!
